Okay, so I just watched all the episodes so far and my main issue with your release is the honorifics. If a show is full of characters with non-Japanese names and clearly not set in Japan, you shouldn’t be using Japanese honorifics. It’s common sense.

The only other thing I noticed was a three-liner shortly after the OP in episode 4.

    • ZeroYuki says:

While I agree with you that the characters do not have Japanese sounding names, the fact is they explicitly use the honorifics after them. If the characters did not use honorifics, then I agree we should not include them. But the fact is they did include them, and I would like to think that there is a reason for it. It could very possibly be that the producers want to use non-Japanese culture infused with Japanese culture so that it would be unique. Japan has always been fond of culture borrowing and trying to adapt foreign culture into Japan. For instance, during the Meiji Restoration where they adopted western culture and technology, but did not copy blindly. Rather, they adapt it to make it relevant to their society.

Adding on to what ZeroYuki said, I think you’re mistaking “common practice” for “common sense”. 🙂

As for that 3-liner, damn that was a huge miss. Noted.

    • Yuu says:

Honorifics are awesome, every group should always include them if they are in the audio.

Thanks for your release and just wanted to let you know that I’m watching your subs because you are including honorifics. It actually drives me nuts whenever I hear honorifics being used and I don’t see them in the translations; it just throws me right out of the story because what I read and hear simultaneously doesn’t match.
