A release after forever. That too, thanks to ZeroYuki and fomite from Waku semi-unretiring to translate and work on this OVA that wasn’t done since forever. Thanks, guys! Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible. So please thank them.
About the episode, it’s pretty good with fanservice. It’s uncensored though. You have been warned.
It’s about summer vacation, adventure and many other things.
We’ve included a few references in our subs. And some things are reversed. That’s due to Kenny speaking English. Hope you find them likeable.
Also, I styled the ED, so any complaints about it should be directed to me. Thank you. And the lyrics are the official lyrics.
Also, we’ve used Ohys-Raws for this release, and also 8-bit. If a BDMV for this ever goes up, we’ll v2 it with our own encode and polish up the script a bit more. The main objective for this release was to get it out so that people can watch it subbed.
I have been so busy with school now that I am into my final few years. It is really hard to believe that just a few years ago, I was busy spending my life all day on anime and worst, trying to translate it for people who do not give a damn. Actually, that might be slightly unfair to generalize all the fans as people who do not care. I guess the fans these days do not appreciate, but a few years ago, there were fans that actually faithfully waited for fansubs, only to be let down again and again by groups like us. That was when they decided to give up on fansubs altogether. Nostalgic times…
I am not even sure I am posting on the blog these days. I do not think anybody actually cares about what I post, but I was feeling nostalgic and slightly lonely after some dreadful revision for my finals, so I decided to just write out some stuff. Apparently, writing is therapeutic because it helps in introspection and reflection. I also realized that because I have not been writing for a long time, as I no longer fansub now, my command of English is inferior to how it was before. So ironically, while I think fansubbing probably robbed me of the best years of my life, it still benefited me. It improved my English language as well as my Japanese.
Anyway, I have always touted Fall anime season to be where rare gems of good anime can still be found. It seems like the Fall selection has been deteriorating as with all the anime in recent years. But I did watch a few episodes here and there, and if you have followed some of the kinds of anime I have translated in the past, you would be familiar with the kinds of anime I look for. If you still have faith in my selection, I shall offer a few titles that I believe are worth your time watching, if you are finding it tough to decide, given the number of disposable anime these days. Rakudai Kishi is a great show using a classic tsundere. I thought I would never see this kind of anime again because it is deemed as cliche, but I guess like trends, what comes around goes around, and what was in vogue will come back to be in vogue again. Besides tsundere, Rakudai Kishi is directed by Shin Onuma, who usually emphasizes the deeper aspects of anime. So if you are like me, into deeper and emotional stuff, Rakudai is a good anime to watch. Shin Onuma was the director of Ef A Tale of Memories, an anime that still ranks on my all time favorites. It aired back in 2007, almost 8 years ago… Guess I am getting old…. The second recommendation I am going to make is Iron Blooded Orphans. This is one of the better Gundam anime since Gundam 00. What is even better is that you do not have to be a Gundam geek to be able to bask in the hype of this anime. It quite easy to relate to, given that Mari Okada is helming the scripts.
Well, I have said my piece, and it feels good writing after a long time. Here is hoping anime gets better!
TL;DR: Rakudai Kishi and G-Tekketsu are the better few anime this season which I feel are worth watching.
I surprised even myself when I actually finished an anime after so long… Actually, not that long, the last was Parasyte maybe a year ago or so.
I managed to finish Arslan Senki, so go watch it if you think you still want to give anime a chance. The show is about a boy’s quest to become King alongside his trusted aides, and to take back his kingdom. If you like tsundere girls who cross dresses as boys, there is Etoile in the show and I have taken quite a liking to her despite her being a classic tsundere. Other than that, the anime is pretty serious and talks about relevant themes such as the fact that there are no right or wrong in war. It is mostly started due to difference in ideologies, beliefs and even religion. It is sad, but with humanity, there will be war. History has shown that it will never go away unless there is a greater evil which could unite humanity. Otherwise, our insecurities breed suspicion and discontent among even our fellow mankind.
Planning posts are overrated. Cos plans tend to not work out. More for us, thanks to me.
But still, no one will understand unless I say it out aloud. So…
On the anime side of things:
1. Denpa Kyoushi: This will get finished. I won’t drop it despite all the criticism it gets. I’ll hope that the show responds to my feelings too.
2. Ushinawareta: Picking it up would mean seeing it to the end.
No new shows.
Big words? You bet.
Thing is, we will very likely need external help. I won’t go far to say a Translator to help with both, but maybe some editing and/or TLC help in future. We’ll see how it goes.
However, I won’t be posting anything about it till I have made progress on both, and have talked with the existing staff about their availabilities and all. Else it’ll be rude to them, and you’ll keep throwing eggs and tomatoes at me, saying I’m all words and no action.
Also, another thing I realized in 4.5 years: there’s no point worrying what people say about you. Took me too long to realize. So I just leveled up~
There are some few things that are in the pipeline too. Let’s see.
Wow, time sure flies. It only feels like yesterday I was in college and got together few of my close friends to form this group. Since then, we have been through a lot, and not only good things happened, but we still stuck, and here we are.
Thanks to each and every one of the staff who made this possible. Every one of you, guys. Couldn’t have done without you. Special mention to the founding staff, especially ZeroYuki, without whom this group wouldn’t exist in the first place.
Thanks a lot to the fans too! Without your encouragement, we wouldn’t have made it this far.
Also well, I’ll be releasing something very soon to commemorate this, so stay tuned!
As for shows, almost all my friends are retired or busy, so there won’t be any new ongoing shows. I’ll be finishing Denpa Kyoushi and Ushinawareta (shut it, I’ll finish it lol) by sometime… this year?
These past few days, I’ve been trying to write an important document.
Which meant no translations, no free time to even read VNs. So we’ve fallen behind a bit.
However, I’d like to finish that by this weekend, and Typesetting has been going on in the background. Even if 04 is not translated completely, all the typesetting is done. And 05 Typesetting is also under way.
Once this is out of the way, the catch-up party will begin.
Especially as episode 7 will feature the best girl. <3
Please understand. Thank you.
That’s done for now. Many of you didn’t understand, but whatever. And just so you know, ep 4 translation is done, with 05 underway.
Anyway, editor is a bit busy but he’ll be back very soon. I’ll do whatever I can so we can release ASAP.
Episode 07 just turned things around, by the way. CHINAMI KANAAN BEST GIRL ADMIT YOU
First and foremost, many many thanks to convexity for TLCing eps 1-3 for us. We appreciate it very much. Good luck with your RL stuff, convex!
This is an episode where our YD Teacher is chased around Akihabara. I’d love to go there someday.
Also, ep 4 onwards we don’t have any TLC. I’ve done everything I could to find one but without luck. So from 4+, I’ll use the Official script to TLC my work. And if anyone reads this and feels like helping out, please contact me.
As to why I decided to take this decision, I discussed with the staff and we felt that this is better than our other option: to stop subbing this altogether. Though I guess some people want us to, but we’ll pass on that~
Let’s see if the rest eps come out faster.
As for notes and references, I couldn’t find much except Hanazono Kanon = Hanazawa Kana (possibly). Not sure though.
If you’re still watching us, thank you. We can continue as long as you enjoy what we do.
Enjoy the snack~
PS. On an unrelated note, go watch Person of Interest if you haven’t. Damn awesome show.
First up, please excuse the awful Typesetting in parts of this episode. They were done with the least possible effort by yours truly in order to speed up things and fill in for a busy Typesetter. The rest of the signs, done by a proper Typesetter, will look great. Thanks to him for going the extra mile and fixing some of them!
The episode has a huge filesize because the studio suddenly decided to add grain from this episode throughout the episode, except the OP and ED.
Next up, this episode has… references. Allow me to rant about this episode, one by one:
0. This episode supposedly animates chapter 2 of the manga. But those who have read the manga, let me tell you this in advance: This deviates a lot from the manga. Whether or not you’ll like it is your choice.
Personally, at first I was infuriated. But I believe I came to terms with it little by little as I translated and subsequently QCed it. Even episode 3 seems it’ll deviate from the manga, so I’m half looking forward to what’ll happen next.
1.First up, you’ll see a few glimpses of this. While I’m not 100% sure, I believe, apart from the algebra-trigonometric equations written, the code seems to be written in some HDL (Hardware Definition Language), which is basically telling a computer about digital logic structure, design, operations etc. Think AND, OR gates and the like. By extension, you can implement adders and everything with those gates in this itself.
I think this is something like VHDL but not fully sure. I did learn it during my college days. Wasn’t really my cup of tea though. Still, it brings back memories~
I still have no idea how this is useful for Kagami, but yeah.
2. This one would be more relevant for y’all who watch anime. Remember Fractale? It aired sometime in 2011, probably Spring. I still remember downloading it at 256 Kbps broadband internet I just got. Those were UTW’s releases by the way.
So here, what you see as “Fwactale” is actually referring to “Fractale”, and “Tanikan” is actually “Yamakan”, and he did say he would retire if Fractale did not sell well(Refer http://goo.gl/WDuqGV). And yeah, Kagami is very right in the sense that it’s a unique anime, and what he says in here is true. Have you ever seen another Anime Opening like this?
I haven’t. Also, I liked the anime a lot. I think I didn’t like the ending much, but still.
So, what did Tanikan… uh, Yamakan, do? I’ll rant about it in the next episode’s post.
3. Fun fact: A-1 Pictures is the studio who did Fractale, and who are doing Denpa Kyoushi as well. Coincidence much?
4. If you’re wondering why it references Fractale in 2015, please take note that the manga began in 2011, the same year as Fractale, and I feel it was in the author’s mind when he wrote Chapter 2 of the manga (which this episode animates).
5. At 00:50 or so, the “1” is gold-colored and the “2” is silver-colored.
6. Sonumap = Sofmap, one of the retailers in Japan selling electronic goods as well as these stuff.
7. At 16:11, for an explanation of ” 2ch married women’s board users”, refer http://goo.gl/WmkNi3 And also, 2ch is Japan’s 4chan.
8. Hiiragi Koyomi is voiced by Mimori Suzuko, also lovingly known as Mimorin. You might have heard Umi from Love Live, right? Umi and Koyomi have the same voice actress.
It’s been a while since an episode allowed me to rant this much on it. Special thanks to our TLC, convex, for catching a lot of these references!
